In place of your retaining ring, the Dew Heater Ring permanently mounts to your 11" Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain (produced in 2006 or later), EdgeHD, and RASA optical tube, ensuring that you'll never be without it. The setup procedure is quick and simple (follow the manual for instructions).
How it works
For effective heating across the lens, the Dew Heater Ring replaces the plastic holding ring on your Schmidt corrector lens. The aluminium ring is strong and lightweight. The telescope's Schmidt corrector lens and cable circuit are supported by the stiff frame of the instrument.The Celestron Dew Heater Ring heats the corrector glass directly, enabling the most effective transfer of heat to stop dew development, in contrast to conventional heating bands or strips that ineffectively heat the lens cell to warm the glass.
For constant, continuous heat that will stop dew from accumulating even in settings with heavy dew, just plug the ring into an external 12V DC power source. Two storage clips are included with the Dew Heater Ring to keep the thermistor and power jacks safe when not in use and to accommodate the telescope's dust cover.
A cable management clip that connects to the telescope's front cell is also included with the Dew Heater Ring. To keep them from dangling and to lessen unintentional pulls on the cable connection to the rings, corral the power and thermistor jack.
