The Celestron Astromaster 130EQ is a Newtonian Reflector Telescope and uses a manual German Equatorial Mount, with its movement controlled via the slow motion control knobs supplied; these provide very precise movements and enable the desired control to navigate the night sky. To aid Terrestrial viewing, the Celestron Astromaster 130EQ Telescope includes a 20 mm erect image eyepiece that ensures images are as you see them with your eye and not inverted, meaning it serves as a dual-purpose telescope. This means the Celestron Astromaster 130EQ can be used for terrestrial and celestial viewing, although it is worth considering the terrestrial viewing is limited to static objects as the movement of the scope is limited to slower, finer movements. The focal length of 650 mm provides a magnification of 65x with the included 10 mm eyepiece.
