In 1999, Rolf Bresser sold his father's business to Meade Instruments, from California, the company operated under Meade Instruments Europe GmbH until 2009, at this point it was acquired by former owner Rolf Bresser, its current general manager, Helmut Ebbert, and also Chinese manufacturer Jinghua Optical Electronics.
