The National Geographic 114/900 reflector telescope with altazimuth mount is an ideal beginner telescope, providing breathtaking views of lunar craters, distant constellations, and even some recognisable characteristics of the planets in our own solar system, as well as bright deep-sky objects when you are observing under dark skies.
This reflector telescope's 114 mm aperture makes it incredibly effective at gathering light, resulting in brighter, more distinct images. The telescope is smaller than an identical refractor model thanks to the reflector system, and the mirror design minimises colour fringing, which can happen with other types of telescopes.
An AZ (alt-azimuth) mount that attaches the accompanying tripod to the scope enables quick setup and uncomplicated use. Three eyepieces (4 mm, 9 mm, and 25 mm) are included with this model, allowing the user to select between 36x and 225x in terms of magnification. A Barlow lens is also included, which boosts the magnification by a further factor of three, bringing the total reach to 75x.
A useful 6x30 finder scope is included with the 114/900 telescope and is intended to make initially spotting the desired star or planet easier. A 1.5x magnification erecting lens is also included, it adapts the image for daytime terrestrial viewing and provides a more comfortable viewing position when the telescope is horizontal.
