A fixed levelling base with a 65mm base and spirit bubble integrated into the tripod canopy takes the place of a conventional central column. This is easily adjustable to a 360° rotation or a ±15° vertical shift, allowing you to quickly level and compose your photo.
The tripod can be lowered to just 290mm and has three easily adjustable leg angles (23°, 50°, and 80°) for low angle or macrophotography.
A 3/8" thread hole with a 1/4" adaptor on the side of the tripod canopy allows you to attach extras to enhance your shot and fits any magic arm. This ensures that, when paired with a VEO TSA DLX, your magic arm won't come loose mid-shot thanks to Vanguard's non-slip bayonet slot fittings.
Additionally, the VEO PV-18 video head has a thread integrated into its side that enables you to attach a second device, like a directional microphone, that can be configured to follow your aim.
Retractable rubber feet at the base can be quickly changed from rubber to stainless steel spiked feet.
The Arca-compatible VEO PV-18 video head on top of the tripod features two long telescopic handles for optimal control and a fluid, smooth movement.
A pan-lock knob is located on the base of the video head, and an enlarged tilt-locking knob that lets you adjust the vertical angles between -45° and +90° is located between the telescoping handle. This makes it easy to set your level when used in conjunction with the two big spirit levels.
There is a damping mechanism on the side of the head that lets you delay the movement and help control the vertical movement with your video camera on top. This makes it simpler to place your video camera in the best possible position. A scale to assist you in repeating a position over time is located on the other side.
If your spotting scope includes an Arca compatible foot, like the Vanguard spotting scopes, you may slot that straight into the clamp for optimal stability. Alternatively, the clamp on top of the video head is Arca compatible, so you can fit in practically any brand of Arca compliant plate.
The extra large Arca compatible QS-61P quick shoe, which provides a stable foundation for a larger device such a video camera and has a non-twist spring pin to guarantee that the video camera is always looking forward, is included as standard equipment.
There is a spring-loaded safety pin included into the base to make sure your priceless kit doesn't fall off in the event that the clamp is not tightened enough to hold the fast shoe firmly to the video head. Using the push button on the clamp's side, this can be removed.
