A fantastic entry point into the field of astroimaging or digiscoping is the Celestron Smartphone Adapter DX Kit. The smartphone adapter and Bluetooth shutter release remote are all you need to take clear, vivid pictures and videos. This adapter's many uses include taking Instagram-worthy photos of the moon, sharing your most recent wildlife observations using binoculars or spotting scopes, and preserving lab specimens using a microscope.
The Smartphone Adapter is compatible with any eyepiece with a diameter of 29mm to 45mm, including 1.25" eyepieces for telescopes, spotting scopes, monoculars, and binoculars. Numerous smartphones can be used with the Smartphone Adapter DX Kit. The phone platform is flexible and can accommodate any device, frequently with the case on.
The adapter's sturdy threaded knobs that hold it in place ensure that the stable platform can support the weight.
The adapter is simple to install and use regardless of the optic you select.
Put your phone in the adapter first. A tightening knob that locks your phone in place helps to keep it firmly in place. After that, centre the eyepiece and the phone's camera. Once you've found the ideal setting, tighten the adjustment knob to ensure a snug fit.
For the phone to fit in the adapter, some big and/or bulky phone cases, especially folio type cases, may need to be removed.
You can take still photos or videos and use the rest of your phone's functionality after it is mounted over the eyepiece. While your phone is still placed in the adapter, you can send your images to friends or publish them on social media.
Measure the outside diameter of your eyepiece to see if your optic is compatible with the smartphone adapter. You may use it with this adapter if it falls within the 29mm to 45mm range. Riflescopes cannot be used with the adapter.
Remote shutter release via Bluetooth
Celestron has also given a Bluetooth shutter release remote that enables you to activate the camera's shutter on any Android or iOS smartphone in order to obtain the finest possible image. The remote lessens vision blur brought on by a phone or telescope being disturbed.
Celestron's fast setup guide includes instructions on how to pair your Bluetooth remote with your phone.
