Celestron114EQ
21 June 2020  |

Has a total novice at sky watching, and using a telescope, I found the building instructions easy to follow. However on the downside, learning about the using of the lenses confusing (ie the difference between erecting lenses and sky watching lenses) but maybe that was just me. Since my purchase I have added moon filters etc and I’m now waiting for cloudless evenings when I can have a proper look. The 114EQ is a large and bulky telescope which I may find hard to transport and probably in hindsight should have gone for something a little smaller to start with. But I will persevere and probably contact my nearest astro society for better advice on skywatching advise.

Quality product at a great price
07 June 2020  |

I wanted an introductory telescope that would still be of value as my new hobby progresses and this looks to be the perfect choice. I studied a lot of the reviews beforehand and this was by far the best in terms of value for money. The PowerSeeker 114EQ is a bit bulkier than I imagined and 3 weeks in I'm still learning how to use it. Disappointingly, the Celestron website doesn't feature much support on this product as its superceded by the more expensive PowerSeeker 127EQ. That said, there are plenty of YouTube videos to teach me how to use it properly. The telescope, mount and tripod are easy to dismantle and I hope to take my PowerSeeker on my next camping trip. Overall, I'm very happy with the product.

Telescope for Grand children
09 April 2020  |

After visiting Winchester Science Centre with two grand children (ages 6 and 8) they wanted to learn more about the moon stars and space in general. After reviewing several beginner telescopes I purchased this Celestron model. Their Dad set the telescope up and my grand children loved looking at the moon etc. The telescope appears to be good quality and was straightforward to set up.
A good starter telescope for the budget.
Their Dad enjoys setting the scope up and viewing the moon etc. They have been able to see some very good images and this has encouraged them to read and ask their Dad more questions.
